Anesthesiologist
A physician trained in anesthesia and
perioperative medicine.
In the
United States, the term anesthesiologist refers to a physician who completed an
accredited residency program in anesthesiology, usually four years following
medical school either with M.D. or D.O. degree. In contrast, the term
anesthetist is used for nurse anesthesia providers who have undergone
specialized training in anesthesia.
Salary: Anesthesiology in the United States
is $350,554 so 50% of the people who perform the job of Physician -
Anesthesiology in the United Sates are expected to make less than $350,554.
Education: While there is no official
pre-medical degree required for medical school, many baccalaureate degree
programs are geared toward preparing graduates for medical school. Whether it
carries the pre-medical label or not, a 4-year degree, preferably in natural
sciences, is required to gain admission to an accredited medical school. These
undergraduate programs should be heavily weighted in physics, organic and
inorganic chemistry, anatomy and biology.
Reflection: I think working in a medical field takes a lot of responsibilities
and education I don’t want to be one I am not as educated for a really serious
job like that because it takes a lot of knowledge.
